Burdick, first formed in 1913 by F.A. Anderson and F.F. Burdick as the Burdick Company, is currently a brand of Cardiac Science Corp. The Burdick Company produced EKG machines much favored by doctors at the time, and was known as a leader in the electrocardiograph technology industry. Quinton Cardiology Systems was founded in 1953 when Dr. Robert Bruce collaborated with Wayne Quinton to jumpstart the process of contemporary cardiac stress testing. Bruce and Quinton worked together to pin down a method of repeatedly measuring an elevated heart rate by means of cardiac testing with consistent results. |
