Description |
Mahogany cased amputation case set from the Civil War era. Made by Codman & Shurtlff, 15 Tremont St. in Boston. The instruments have ebony handles. Note the screw-type tourniquet which was used to control bleeding. Includes also a trephine for drilling the skull. |
